My SQL is an Open Source database that talks the SQL language. A database allows for the storage of a large number of records that can be sorted, indexed and called up very fast and easily.

Running a database as part of your website can be very useful if you have lots of data to put into a fixed look and feel. You don't even have to have programming knowledge to do it, there are many free website applications such as CMS's (Content Management Systems), online stores, photo gallery's etc. that will do all of this for you.
